Yes, they do exist! Things other than horse racing exist, who knew? :)
NFL Sunday is always the best day of the week in the fall, so let's take this cold (yes, it's cold here!) Monday morning before English class to analyze.
Niners and Falcons: Just when we thought the Niners might be getting their act together, they fall again. And it wasn't as if the game was out of their reach either. A mere field goal sent the 49er's to 0-4, and a reason to be worried that their season is slipping from their grasp. Rapidly. Meanwhile, maybe the Falcons are improving, only time will tell.
Jets and Bills: The outcome of this game is completely and utterly expected, and didn't really tell me much that I didn't already know. Mark Sanchez seems to be coming into his own, as well as the rest of the Jets defense, which pains me considering how much I dislike Rex Ryan and the Jets in general, (and don't even get started on the LT situation, I'm still sick about it.) The Jets have a meeting with Brett Farve and the Vikings next. The poor Bills can't seem to catch a break can they? Well, it is the Bills. They have Jacksonville up next week, then their bye week. But I don't seem much improving on the horizon.
Bengals and Brown: Cleveland took one over the stunned Bengals and Chad Ochocinco, (whose name I like to cite because I recently installed the "Chad Ochocinco App on my iPod.) Did anyone see this coming? The Bengals last week were deserving of their top ten rank, now we're not so sure. The Bengal's launched a furious rally with Terrell Owens to win, but the Brown's held out tough for their first win of the season. They'll get another tough test next week against upstart Atlanta, while the Bengals duke it out with Tampa Bay.
Lions and Packers: Dare we say it? The Packers almost lost to the Lions! It's not even the fact that they won and Detroit lost, it's the fact that the Lions almost won. Almost winning still earns another red L in the column, but hey, Lion's fan might want to take what they can get at this point. Detroit has come really close to breaking the paint in quite a few games lately, if only they could break through a game and escape the cellar. I'd give the Bills the cellar this week and let the Lions out for a bit of fresh air, even without a win. Perhaps they can catch a break with the Rams next week, but after this week with St. Louis, who knows? (But we'll get to the Rams game later.) And didn't the Packer's just look like crap? This can't be the same dominant team it was a few weeks ago, they're not functioning the same. I'm not sure what to think of Green Bay at this point, you decide. It was an ugly win, none the less. Redskins next week, and I'd put my money on McNabb and the Skins at this point.
Broncos and Titans: Kyle Orton seems to be growing as a Quarterback, rallying the Brocs past Tennessee, still in this midst of their heartbreak from last week. I really feel for the Broncos, and their tragic stories. I mean, who wouldn't? It's horrible to loose young players like that, hard to loose anybody in general. Titans looks their average, mediocre. Neither team played to their best, but I didn't expect them to. Pleased to see Orton stepping up to the plate when he needs to, it's encouraging. Tough game next week against the Ravens, while Tennessee will have to step up their game for Dallas.
More after English class!
