Never Disappointed

A few days after the 'Rachel disaster, (and Steve Haskin's covered it best here,) and we had the once again dominating Zenyatta come and do what she does best: win. Again. For the 19th time in a row. I'm sure Jess Jackson would be quivering in his boots now if 'Rachel wasn't already shipped off the get it on with Curlin in the Bluegrass state.

And Lookin at Lucky doesn't disappoint me either. That horse, just love him. Always have.

So Steve Assmusen does have something to be happy about in the JCGC! Not that anybody really cared, they were too preoccupied with the still unanswered questions about the star filly formally in his care. So congrats to Haynesfield, but not much else.

Goldikova is back and gunning for a three-peat in the BC with her usual flare and dominance. This is another spectacular mare that reserves and commands respect wherever she goes, and I expect her to do what she does best at Churchill in November.

In other news, Workforce prevailed in a thriller to win the Arc (yes, the Arc! No one over here seems to care all that much about foreign racing anymore, but we'll blame that on Jess Jackson again because we can,) and boy, was he gritty. Great race.

There are some other things out there, lots more races to mention, but I'm still fuming over Rachel Alexandra and Jess Jackson right now to properly handle this. Still furious. And Real Quiet's death hasn't helped any. What a great horse, and a sad thing in the horse racing world. We'll miss you big boy.
